I'm assuming you're looking for a pattern for making the center-seamed moccasins? From what I saw online they look similar to the ones my people make, with the center seam and gathering of the leather up the front.

I found a really detailed, step-by-step guide on the nativetech.org website: NativeTech: Making Woodland Style One-piece, Soft-sole, Center-seam Moccasins

It will show you how to position your feet for tracing the pattern and which measurements to do along the outside.

I made several pairs of these and decorated them for my tribal style (Chickasaw), and they were pretty easy to do. I wound up making 4 pair in one afternoon.

Another way to make them is to take a newspaper start at the edge and cut a line far enough in so that it will rap around the ankle then cut across so that it looks like a T. Then take that and put it over your foot and trace around your foot this will give you the top of your mocs. Then you can put your foot on top of a piece of paper and trace around to give you your bottom. After you bead the tops you just sew it to the bottom, if the like you can cut out a tongue and sew it on. I hope I explained that so you can understand it if not I can email you a diagram.
The look on a baby's face the first time they hear the drum is priceless.......

You should probably be more specific about which tribe you are from, so you know which moccasins to make. Unless you dont care, in which case, Good Luck!

I personally hate the center seam mocs because they hurt my toes. I have a really high arch and so the ball of my foot gets most of the pressure. One pair of mine are high top and the other are the short ankle ones. Not really much help but I do know to bead them before you put them together.

I am back for those of you who used to tease me when I used "Ahpi Shikopa". No, my name hasn't changed, but I decided that if you were going to tease me with "Autumn Apple Princess," I might as well use the name. No hard feelings to anyone anymore.

                  Anyway, for those...

Here are some questions for your fine folks. I was just gifted a beautiful knife, deer antler handle with eagle head carved in the end, most symetrical hand knapped blade you have ever seen.

I am trying to make a sheath for it and am having problems with forming the rawhide inside sheath....
