I use whatever I find that fits the piece best. I'm about to start working on some aprons that I'm using size 9 cuts on because of the size. I hate it when people think that you HAVE to use a certain type of bead. I usually use size 11s or 12s, depending on which size I can find what colors and cuts I'm looking for.

    beads

I love the 13/0 charlottes. I do an applique style beading. I love woodland patterns mostly. I am always looking at nature for inspiration.

I agree it depends on the size of the project and the amount of detail in the design. I know folks who do it, but it would take me forever to bead huge pieces with size 16's or 18's. A friend of mine only beads with 13's and smaller, regardless of the size of piece.
For me I use 11's and 13's seed beads and charlottes mostly

I prefer size 9 n 12 tri-cut beads, and to make some awesome detail work I rather work with size 13 charolettes.

I like 18/0, 15/0 cuts, and 16/0 for gourd stitch.

    I favor 13/0, 13/0cuts, and 11/0 for lane stitch & applique.

I don't like anything for loom stitch, but I'm prejudiced against loomwork, LOL.

Totally depends on what I am working on. Which ever size or style or even color of bead works the best at that time are my very favorites....which ever dont do the job are my very least favorites. Heck, I even love 16s and their darn needles, if I need 'em that small!!

What size beads do you use????
    by spottedeagle
Just curious what size beads everyone uses on most of their work. I'm thinking about ordering some 13/0 Charlottes to use on my own beadwork. But I've been using alot of 12/0 seed beads lately.

I went to Crazy Crow and I found German seed beads, italian, czech, etc, etc. I didn't realize there were so many types?...

    What beads are you using?
    by TallmanFL
Most good beadworkers know that you can't make fine beadwork without starting with quality materials.

These days a lot of people seem to be using transparent beads with a lot of shine to them. So lets hear about what type of beads you are using, (size, style, Czech, French, other?)...
