  • Purple Beads

Where can I find some good purple beads? I like the color of the silver lined red violet delicas on fire mountain but I want to use czech beads because they are less expensive. But the purple czech beads look grey to me.

How much do you need? I have some purple to sell. They are a dark purple color that is created by a light blue transparent bead lined with light purple. They are beautiful and hold up. I have a couple of hanks of a light purple too that has an AB coating on it. Let me know how much you are looking for and maybe I can help you out.

I'd take her up on it, not an easy colour to find in a good shade. I either buy it when ever I see a good shade or The other thing I do if I want purple is order it and pay, the only colour I don't mind paying to much for.

You are right on this being a hard color to find.
I found a few hanks at an estate sale once- they are something like size 10 and 1/2 (between an 11 and a 10) but the color is great. I am very finicky about when i use them.

Purple is tricky to find. I found some tubes at a bead show, of shiny lavender and semi transparent grapeish color. I still havent found the purple shade i was initially looking for :P

Its easier to find purple porky quills than beads

I wanted to find a strong (opposite of dull and bland ) Royal Purple to use in making a pressie for someone. I have other colors to match their regalia but not that.

What do you think about these?

I have several containers of them left over. They look kind of light in the pic but they are really rich colored.

They are 40 gram containers I think. No tubes or hanks. They are really nice and uniform. I'll let them go for $4 a container plus shipping.

What about dyed beads? Galvanized beads?

Don't know about the 3 cuts but usually 3 cuts are pretty good. Dyed beads will fade. I've never dealt with galvanized beads.

I've designed a pattern for a headband that I'd like to make for my fiance. I've decided to do it in peyote flat stitch. I'm all ready, buuuut......I don't know where to get my beads. I went to Crazy Crow and I found German seed beads, italian, czech, etc, etc. I didn't realize there were so many types?...

Long time since I've been able to post anything to Powwows :-)

I'm relatively new to beading, and have decided to fully bead my next fancy feather cape/apron/sidetab/cuff set. I'll be appliqueing [sp?] the entire thing because a.) the design is fairly intricate and b.) two-needle applique...

Anyone know of a place online to get "real" purple or purple violet seed beads, size 6, 11 and 13?

and i mean opaque purple not the crappy translucent, clear, pinkish or rainbow effect purple. im talking about beautiful red and blue makes purple.

                                any one out...
