I know. My mother in law gave me a hank of these AMAZING purple beads that are a hex cut. They are actually blue transparent beads with a pink lining and my gosh they sparkle. They are supposed to be 11s I think. They are sort of between 11 and 10 though. I love them but I hardly would use them because I didn't want to run out of them. I'm sooo glad Fire Mt is carrying these now.

          Purp & pinkle beads

Sorry, I had to quote my granddaughter.

Two places I've found purple & pink beads (less expensive than Fire Mtn, same quality)--

          Hope this helps

since i dont think its been mentioned....BEWARE, you are dealing with two of the hardest glass colors to acheive. As far as i know, there is only ONE true purple that is czech, and there are very few pinks (I've seen two). The rest are all dyed (mostly jap). I'm not trying to disuade using these colors, but just beware that other than lavender or "cheyenne" pink, you're most likely dealing w/ a dyed bead that WILL fade/rub off/whatever over time under heavy use (like a fan handle). If it's something that you will need to last, that's one thing, but for an outfit that will be used for a season or 3, then you will be fine.

                Purp & pinkle, II

Yep, he's right about the "painted" beads. both Wandering Bull and John sell Czech beads. Good quality, and the colours a touch higher than more common colours; not to mention, both guarantee satisfsfaction.

At a bead show i bought off this vendor, the mulberry i got and a light purple are not painted or lined. However she does have some that are lined, but its stated in description if it is.

Not to be a smartass, but your beads come with descriptions? That, I gotta see. Both Bull and John have colur images, but reproduction CAN thru the shade off. Every bead I've bought on a hank, or in a tube. Best description I saw had no moe than 3 words.

Just asking for clarity. If there are descriptions, I'm behind the times....wait....isn't that the point?

Go by eye on colour, when it's in your hand, not the printed page.

                    Thanks again,

Hey Fox, since you are colour blind as a ding bat, how can you of all peeps say go by your eyes!!!

But yes John Bead has sweeeeeeet pink and purple beads I spend too much there as is! They come in bags of 500 grams works out to about 10 to 14 hanks depending on the size you are looking at. The prices vary to the sizes and yes the colours.

That's why I HATE to buy beads sight unseen. Even the pretty ones that I see at powwows, I have to look closely and FEEL.

i dont have a problem buying beads sight unseen...I'm sure everyone will agree that they look different in the catalogs, but I just order everything and anything that looks like my target color, and then when it comes, I know whats what and I can take the one I need. Of course there are two colors I order pretty regularly sight unseen. Black and white....pretty hard to eff those two up.

I bought from this person at a bead show. And i pulled out the tube i bought because she has alot of pinks and purples and i can vouche for 2 of the purples that they are not Lined or painted.
And on her webpage she states if they are lined, i was only letting others know that she has both and tells the difference.

Since i know finding pinks and purples is tricky, just wanted to help out :)

Well that make work for you! There are a few of us that love looking at the actual product and being right in the warehouse is eye candy of the greatest pleasure as a beader that I can ask for! I can spend days if they would allow me, just browsing each and every bin at John Bead! Takes me hours but then again I spend more than I should and I end up doing and planning more projects.

I've designed a pattern for a headband that I'd like to make for my fiance. I've decided to do it in peyote flat stitch. I'm all ready, buuuut......I don't know where to get my beads. I went to Crazy Crow and I found German seed beads, italian, czech, etc, etc. I didn't realize there were so many types?...
