Please explain the difference between a regular long hooded Pendleton coat, and a capote style.
After freezing butt at the powwow this weekend, my friend and I want to make hooded ones.
        ...it is what it is...

I made one once for my mom from a simplicity pattern with a rolled shawl collar. I was so scared that I was gonna mess up so I made a sample one first from a cheapie blanket. They both turned out fine.

How could I change the pattern and add a hood? And I think I would want mine longer. Do they flare out slightly at the bottom if they're longer?

Kakeeya and ndngirl73, do you have your own patterns or did you find a good one somewhere that you use?

                hi Ladies
the coats are prettty easy if you have a sturdy machine. i use my own pattern so the coats are custom made for you. the prices vary depending on the size and style and whether or not you provide the blanket. its best to make the reversable coats when using a pendleton that way you dont have to worry about the blanket pattern not matching up. i have one for sale right now and i will post some pictures here soon. Right now i am in the middle of Arlee powwow:) so after that. have a good weekend

I know a lot of people don't like the Missouri River patterns from Crazy Crow (or who ever you get yours from), but it worked pretty well on the last capote that I made. Then again, it wasn't a Pendleton blanket. The pattern can be adapted for a couple of different styles. Hope this helps.

Anybody know how to make cradleboards or know of resources to find out how to make one? I saw just a couple of places online, but I'd like to try and make one for my baby. I feel like I'm hunting for a needle in a haystack.

Does anyone have any tips on making a moccasin pattern, or is it something you just have to learn? I have everything, but I dont want to make any major mistakes and waste materials. Thanks in advance
