I Would Like To Know If There Is Any One Out There That Can Help Me Get Canadian Goose Wings For My Bustle. I Have Been Trying To Make Another One For A While Now, But Cant Obtain The Wings Here In Florida. I Had The Honor Of Owning A Golden Eagle One Until It Was Stolen Out Of My Moving Trailer. I Have Already Tried Nocbay But They Are Discontinuing
Their Stock. Any Information Would Be Great Thanks

Well they are headed your way so you might want to try looking for roadkill when they get there. Unless you hunt, or someone gives them to you , that's the only way because even though it's not illegal to own canadian goose feathers, it's illegal to sell them or buy them.

Wish I could help you out... but it would be easier if you were up here in canada...i live in a small town and duck/goose/bird hunting season just ended in the area..there is a local couple here who run a taxidermy/ hunting type shop...dad got feathers from them to get a bustle and fan made for my little brother...of course they didnt and by law arent supposed to charge anything...

My daughters godgrandfather's best friend owns the company and I was glad they have a website now. I like the feathers to make fans for my husband and daughters. Good luck! :16: :21:

I don't know if using Canadian Goose feathers is such a good idea if you are going to dance in the US. they are illegal to use in crafts under the Migratory Bird act.

The act permits the use of "Migratory GAME bird".
If you are allowed to hunt the bird, as a general rule, the FEDs will not give you any trouble. Unless the caught you taking them through illegal methods (i.e baitng, poisioning etc.)

I just completed a traditional bustle outta Snow goose wing feathers. A great sub for eagles just much smaller.

The thing about the goose feathers is they have to be in season... hunting season that is. The coloring should tell you the difference. You can use them and wear them and carry them without a permit, you just can't buy or sell them.

I sent those goose feathers out years ago and his bustle has been made almost as long.

True to that sh' noob.I thank you for them and it is great to see the thread is still goin.but to all who might read this in the future...My bustle has been complete for a long time now and is great.i jst have to travel to get to the good powwows.oh sh' noob i used it in last years Gathering of Nations powwow.I did have one person try to get on me for my breechclout and my trailors.They are made out of two differant flags. My clout is an old boat flag that wuz on my gramps boat.and it hangs almost to the ground(bout 6 inch above) my trailors are from his flag he got after he returned f/korea.about 10" f/ground but are upside dwn.I love my country and am a vet of the iraq war (hit by SA fire in shoulder),but MY NATION IS AND HAS BEEN under attack since 1492!!!What do you think about this?

some people get bend out of shape when a flag is used as part of an outfit, some dont.

a friend of mine told me that there was this guy who was wearing an outfit with flag patterns and the MC told him to go stand in the center since he wants to be a flag.

but there is such a thing as overdoing it, yeah its our flag but you dont need EVERYTHING to have a flag pattern, be creative.
