Kiowa Kat has been selected to demonstrate moccasin making at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, the week of August 8-14, 2005!
She will demonstrate moccasins in various stages of construction and also share her talents of hide tanning and beading.
I have seen her work and it is truly awesome. She brain tans her own hides and is very knowledgable of 1800's period southern plains crafts.
Kiowa Kat recently participated in a video that will be shown at the new Oklahoma Museum of History, starting in November.
She is a decendent of Silverhorn, a famous Kiowa traditionalist.
I, for one, am very pleased to have someone of her knowledge and expertise - as an active member of Powwows.com!!!!!!
