    What is the best or fastest way to soften buck skin into useable leather.I have 5 hides to do, I already have 2 others de haired and streched, but I would like to learn new way of softening them up,I have been working neats foot oil into them and working them over a fence post, any help, I would be greatful for .

      Ick, I have been told that braintanning is the best way to go. I certainly dont envy your job! *G* But good luck!

        I think their is just no easy way, just going to have to do it.
