That looks pretty good. When you say there are 2 extra rows in that...do you mean there are a total of 4 rows of porky up front or just 3 rows?
Well, here is the pic of my wife's completely finished Sauk n Fox mocs I had said I was going to post.Attached FilesPB49

Next, I took a bit of time to play and I made another brooch this evening. Again it is cooper and is about 1 1/2" diameter. This one is a definite improvement over the first one, in my opinion. It is coming along and I am learning as I go.Attached FilesPB49

Dang hun you are just too keen...lord you can bust those things out quick and still have them lookin too good!
Well, I did a new brooch. it is to go with the Southern cloth outfit my wife is making for one of my nieces. Actually she is making new sets for both girls so I have another brooch to make and 2 pair of new mocs (and she volunteered to make these outfits for them...LOL).
Well, this brooch is a bit bigger than the others. It is 2 1/2" in diameter and this one is made of yellow brass.Attached FilesLast edited by powwowbum49; 05-15-2004, 02:15 AM.PB49

You know ... Tay still needs a brooch set. Southern style... anyhow when you start getting more confident enough to do work orders.. let me know what you would want for a graduating 3 brooch set.Don't worry that it's not good enough for anyone else to hear... just sing, sing a song.sigpic

joy , joy evryone has created such wonders of splender and joy(sorry studing shakespeare in LA)
which is kinda the reason I haven't been seen much of lately . our grade has been doing alot of teating and boy oh boy did I do alot of reading !!!!.
anyway so far i've finished a pair of fancy dance whip sticks for the fancy set . they are 15" long with ribbon on they and they move quite necelly . also I've finished a single partually beaded mocc they are size 121/2 and have red stripes with a blue star in the middle . I've also done some touch up's to my bustle and am re doing my breasteplate (again) and on order I have the supplies I've been needing for a bandolier , a set of anklets , and a pipe bag kit . the bandolier is going to match my breastplate made of natural bufflo horn (amber color) the breastplate and choker will be redone in the same way exept this time with 8mm frenchies(french brass beads)they'll look really nice I'll try to post phot's when I'm done .

Well, let see I have done quite a few roaches since I last posted (2 repairs, 2 15"ers, a couple of 6" and 6" roaches, but all of these were just plain jane's so I didn't bother taking pics of them). My wife and I also finished up the S. cloth outfits we were making for my nieces, But I did not get any PIC of the clothes before we gave the to the girls.
Anyway, here is another new roach. This is a 6" clipped deer hair base Turkey Beard roach done in Purple. Has been a long time since I have made one of these and it was kinda nice to do one again...though natural hair bases are such a pain in the butt to make and work with.Attached FilesPB49

by powwowbum49Well, as if I don't have enough other projects going right now I have decided to try my hand at silverwork. I have a ton of it that I need for new dance clothes for my family so I figured I should see if I am any good at it. I have been picking up a few tools and am waiting on some sheet metal to arrive...

Does anyone have a picture of one to post on here? If I can see it I can figure...-

by keelerHey all'
I'm just looking for some input. I have a few ?s reguarding roaches.
1. I noticed that the current trend seems to be longer is better. Is there a general consensus on prefered length for grass dancers?
2. I'm just getting back to the trail after several years of...-
