  • Looking for Honest opinion

I made my first fan and I am looking for an honest opinion I just put it together with cardboard so I would be able to just take it apart if I was not happy. Please let me know what you think.

It is not really a good pic it was taken with a cheap web cam I will try to post in the gallery

Well ulitmately it comes down to, do you like it? It's your fan, you'll be the one dancing with it... do you like it? Does it feel good to hold, does it give good wind and do you like to look at it personally? I won't give my opinion to sway you either way... you have to decide if you like it first.
Don't worry that it's not good enough for anyone else to hear... just sing, sing a song.sigpic

If you want it to last, take out the cardboard and replace that with a thin piece of plywood or even better get a cedar shingle and split a piece of it down to the right width, the cedar will outlive the cardboard. Then you will be even prouder of your finished project.

Like Bear said,,,how does it feel, only when you use it and get the right wind flow will You be truly happy. I made mine from the wing tip of a blue heron, the whole wing was too much,,,the spread was 49 inches so I brought that down to about 16. But it has too feel comfortable. Then trim the decorations.

Cool then... yeah I would do what he said and make it more permanent... however I have made two fans using cardboard and they are still holding up after 5 years.
