I decorate them too. Take a slender piece of cedar and drill a hole in it and insert the feather shaft part way(like a drinking straw. Then cover the cedar and feather edge with leather. Cover the leather with bead work. These can be left as is or then mounted on barrette clips with strands of trailing beads. On the other end you can mount claws with the hair on them. I usually add different fur strands around the base and then again near the feather start. These can be for hats as well. Or smudge feathers. Talking feathers have a longer piece of cedar.
