  • Blogging For Dollars!

    (From a successful Blogger...)

Some time ago I start to help people solve tech related issues mostly related to phones, but any device was fair game. My number of hits (people viewing) my information and videos started to grow and grow. Next step was to see if I could make money off this and still give my information away for free. Yep, I figured it out and now supplement my income. I am making money even when not interacting online.

Here are my steps for you or your spouse:

Find a topic that you are passionate and knowledgeable on…ie.. Beading, Regalia & Face Paint, Dancing, Singing, etc, etc…

Begin a blog in Google Blogger. – It is important to use Blogger specifically vs other companies.

Design your site to look how you like. Blogger gives the novice all kinds of options for designs and allows coders to do their thing. I suggest looking up “how to import a template in blogger.” My sites show no signs that they were ever a Google Blogger site.

Now you have a website that is hosted for free by Google which means you get Google support and security for free. Normally, this level of service ranges between $8 to $200 per month just for one site.

Now, time to change the name to something you like. Blogger makes you use whatever your title of choice is plus .blogger.com. Such as Powwow.blogger.com. But you need to look more professional with your own address known as a URL.

Time to go to Hover.com. There are many places you can go to, but I like Hover out of Canada the best. Do a search in their system for the name you wish for your site. Once you pick it, type in the promo code TWIT and get a percentage off. This is the only piece that will cost you money. It is about $10 a year for most site names. I have never seen the Hover site go down. In Hover you need to "forward" the name of the site. Once done correctly this till cover up your Blogger name without doing anything to your Blogger site. It takes a few minutes to half a day to work.

    Three steps left…

Open a youtube channel under the same name. Youtube is my biggest earner.

Next open a Google AdSense account. You must validate your identity to Google for them to give you this. AdSense lets you track all activity and it is what Google uses to pay you.

Now go in and follow the steps in Youtube and Blogger to “monetize” or link your AdSense account to them. This will allow you to put small advertisements in your blog and on your Youtube channel videos.

Last but not least go to Amazon and start an Amazon Associates account. Pick an item you like and click it making the “link” code appear. Copy that to your Google Blogger by pasting it in the “HTML Gadget” in the Blogger Gadget area.

Google will pay you a percentage for every click to its advertisers. The clicks vary from a fraction of a penny to big bucks. Amazon will pay you only if a person clicks and then makes a purchase. The least I have made is about a penny for a click and the most is $200. Yep… $200.

There are even many more ways to make money like this… Google searching will be your friend. At the very least this could pay your food bill every month, but it takes a couple months to build your audience. Link to all social networking sites for the most traffic. Tell all your Facebook friends to tell their friends.

Thanks Amigo, we used to sell tropical fish online, and I couldn't figure out how to get paid advertisers. Thanks!

Cool Amigo K. Is it really lucrative? Are you working really hard for only a few bucks? Or is it better than that?

Thanks for putting all the steps out like that. I guess I can find out if I get out there and try. Thanks!

The example I used is from a techie friend.

He helps people learn how to use their smartphones, iPads, laptops, computers, etc.

He makes "how to" videos that are easy to follow.

So, 7/24 his videos are available for people.

Peolpe click on links in the ads he sponsors. He gets paid.
