  • bone whistle help

My shaman has talked about a new bone whistle. I have made many ceremonial instruments and promised I would do this for him. He gave me the bird bone... it seems so small.

I do not know how to put this whistle together for him without splitting the bone. I watched a video on making larger whistles and the mouth piece is a bit confusing. Does anyone have a good way to make a bird bone whistle that they could share with me, or point me to a well done tutorial?

Whence tribe did you and your shaman originate??

Why must I feel like that..why must I chase the cat?

      wish i had a sharmin !
I believe blood quantums are the governments way to breed us out of existance !

They say blood is thicker than water ! Now maple syrup is thicker than blood , so are pancakes more important than family ?

There are "Elders" and there are "Olders". Being the second one doesn't make the first one true !

Somebody is out there somewhere, thinking of you and the impact you made in their life.
      It's not me....I think you're an idiot !

                It is sacred.
                Eagle. I believe wing bone.
I am Sihasapa (siksika) and he is Oglala.

He says it is not ceremonial but for pleasure as he likes the sound but I know it will be important to him and must be done right. And it is a gift for his help in past issues. It must be done carefully so as not to damage the bone but still get the pitch. The video shows so much delicate cutting so I'm hoping for some tricks that will reduce the chance of damage.

Yes, but he is not my question. It is the whistle. He is not a member here and I respect his anonymity. Please do not think I am impertinent. I only want to show respect for his privacy.

Can you help with making the whistle? I really wish to do a nice job. Any hints for keeping the bone supple while cutting so it doesn't shatter is much appreciated. Also is there a preferred way to fashion the mouthpiece or is a standard "V" cut inverted best?

Never mind. Perhaps I used the word he refers to himself most "Shaman" but he is a healer and seer. I did not find the help I needed here but I did complete the whistle and it is in used now. Thank you.

He scared the hell outta me last night when he took WAY too many pills in absence of the alcohal. He works all day without any substance, but he seems to freak out if...

A few folks here know about the abuse i suffered as a child. So I thought the first place to start is to get it out and have a place to discuss all types of abuse with other pw.com folks. I know it is a very difficult thing to talk about.. and i know i may not receive many posts to this thread and i...
