Never mind. Perhaps I used the word he refers to himself most "Shaman" but he is a healer and seer. I did not find the help I needed here but I did complete the whistle and it is in used now. Thank you.

I do not know how to put this whistle together for him without splitting the bone. I watched a video on making larger whistles and the mouth piece is a bit confusing. Does anyone have a good way to make a bird bone whistle that they could share with me, or point me to a well done tutorial?

Can you help with making the whistle? I really wish to do a nice job. Any hints for keeping the bone supple while cutting so it doesn't shatter is much appreciated. Also is there a preferred way to fashion the mouthpiece or is a standard "V" cut inverted best?

It is sacred.
Eagle. I believe wing bone.
I am Sihasapa (siksika) and he is Oglala.
He says it is not ceremonial but for pleasure as he likes the sound but I know it will be important to him and must be done right. And it is a gift for his help in past issues. It must be done carefully so as not to damage the bone but still get the pitch. The video shows so much delicate cutting so I'm hoping for some tricks that will reduce the chance of damage.
