  • Any canvas suppliers?

Does anyone know of a reliable supplier of 12 oz duck canvas for tipis? I used to know of a place in Salt Lake City, but have since moved to Iowa. I would love to build a new tipi, but so far, finding canvas is proving futile! Any suggestions appreciated!

I found this canvas in the most surprising place. I bought extra large canvas drop cloths from Home Depot and it was inexpensive, sturdy, beautiful canvas. These are the type of drop cloths that professional painters use. I have canvas up now and it's been up for almost 2 years of continuous use. I hit it with Camp Dry silicone to make it more weather resistant. But it surprises me how well it's held up. I doubt I needed to put the spray silicone on it.

Anyway, any one of the box home improvement stores in your local town should have it.

Salvadge a rosette on bad foundation
      by tennessean
Hey everyone. I tried beading a rosette for the first time and ended up using a pretty limp foundation material. I intended to use pellon, but accidentally bought the lighter version and tried to use it anyway.

I trimmed the material down when I finished and glued it onto a leather disc....

I'm starting on my leggings and hairties for my jingle outfit. I'm using the lap pads (crib liners) for the leggings, but someone here suggested using vinyl placemats for beadwork, and I went out looking for some, but the closest thing I found was at Kmart, its by Martha Stewart, called Heavy Duty...

      Hi,
I am new to PowWows.com. I am an amature beader. I love making earrings. My daughter is a fancy shawl dancer. I have made her earrings. But now I want to make the hair barrette for the back of her head. And would like to know if anyone could tell me how to get started. Do I bead each bead...
