  • jingle dress pattern used?

    I've seen patterns on Ebay.

Another way is to go to a fabric store and find a straight plain dress pattern... an "A" line dress. If you buy a pattern with the skirt straight down, you will not have enough room for your walking stride. (I made that mistake once) If you are really handy, you can adjust the pattern to your liking, adjust the length and don't forget to cut out an extra skirt to sew in for the underskirt.

A shirt makes a good pattern.
        ...it is what it is...

Just curious i am making a jingle dress what is a underskirt for? is it like skirt so no one can see through your first dress? i was thinking about doubling my material so it will be strong enough for the jingles.

Traditionally women are not supposed to show their legs. I know a lot of young girls wear shorts under their dress and hike the skirt up to their hips to sit down and usually is frowned upon by elders. With an under skirt, you can pull up the outer skirt to sit down.
As for the material, if you have a good quality material and good bias for the jingles, there is no need to double up. you have to think.... the more material, the heavier the dress, the hotter it will be, especially on a hot day when your jammin really hard.
