how do you make a drop fan? what would I need? I have feathers already, leather, beads, thread, etc..
should I use a dowel/stick for the handle?

by aNishKweOkay, so I located a fan handle, not detacheable but whole, which is still fine :)
However, I am wondering what do you use to attach the feathers to the fan. Is there a specific name for that material/piece that I can seek out, perhaps at a art store?
I'd like to attempt threadwork...-

I just opened my big plastic feather box to pick out some feathers for a new fan. As I started going through the different prepared bunches, I noticed that a "critter" has eaten its way through my best feathers.

by NashobaI've beaded fans, but this is the first time to make a fan from the feathers to the beadwork. Someone from way down South gave me a lot of Macaw feathers from the Andes. All they told me to do was steam them and wrap 'em up they said. Help with steaming and wrapping? I don't understand any websites...
