Too Much Beadwork
Having practically everything beaded is way too much as this would not have been the case in the past.
Also having all the bead work match perfectly or on the same theme is too much also. One must remember that matching beadwork would have been very hard.
You can see match beadwork in the late 19th Century but even that was hard to do.
Getting enough beads from the same source could be very hard if not impossible. And each time a trader came around or each time the Natives went to the trade post the beads could be from different sources. Even if they were lucky to get the same source there would be trace differences in sizes and colors.
And don't forget the trade route that the beades had to take from Europe to America and then finally get to the Natives. By the time some one needed beads from the same lot that company could have stopped that size or color or even could have went out of business.

by SuzizilaHas anyone around here ever made a beadwork sampler? I am thinking about doing something like that to try out new designs. This idea is coming from the July/August 1998 issue of PieceWork magazine in which they cover several things like beadwork, quillwork, baskets, quilting, making dolls, and other...

by SuzizilaI was just wondering how common is it today that people express their religious faith in beads? Not too long ago, I came across a beautiful bag with Jesus walking on water. (Unfortunately, the reserve on this bag was out of my range.)
I've had designs going through my head based on Christian...-

by SuzizilaHas anyone ever seen raised beadwork on anything other than whimsies and glenngary(sp?) hats? I'm thinking of attempting to do some for a beaded set I want to work on. How well do you think it would last on leggings and a vest? Am I right in thinking that it is a row (line) of beads covered with...

Hello,
Just wanted to see what people here on powwows.com feel about ordering beadwork from people. I have done it once for my daughter and the experience was far from positive. I am the kind of person who doesn't like to order something if I can't pay in full, I don't like to do...-
