  • beaded baret

I just bought this very big beaded baret that is mostly white. I was just wondering is someone can tell me how to clean the baret and make it look new cause the beads look dirty. Its not a new baret.

You might try washing it with a mild soap, rinsing it well, and letting it air dry. That's what I do when my barrettes get coated with hairspray.

Since the baret is several years old, will cleaning it make it look new? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

It couldn't hurt to try it out. If there is just the usual build up of dust, then you should notice a bit of a difference. Just give it a try & see what happens. I know it works on hairspray.

Using mild soap is good advice. Be careful when rubbing the beadwork since you must be careful not to damage any of the threads. Rather than using a small brush which may damage the threads, try using a Q-tip and gently clean the beadwork with the mild soap solution. Rinse well after you have cleaned it -- any soap residue left on the piece will act as a dirt magnet. Then make certain you allow plenty of time to dry the beadwork.Good luck and I hope this helps.
