Well, for that cross they beaded over the wood. You'll need to know peyote stitch to bead around it. I think the only thing you need besides your beads, thread, etc. is a form to bead on. I'm not completely sure about how to explain how to do it, but I hope this gives you some idea.

I can do the peyote beadwork. I'm trying to figure out how to join all four part together in the middle.

Its hard to tell by the pic if they are even joined in the center but I bet George Hoyett would know how to do it. That man can bead anything.

I don't know if this one is, but I've seen them where all the beadwork meets in the middle.

The pic looks to me like they wrapped the center with leather...I have an idea of how to totally bead the center, but will have to try it before suggesting it ok?

hehehehe..........I e-mailed the guy as soon as I saw the photo. He said he didn't have a better pic yet but was planning on sending me one as soon as he could. He also said the center is beaded. I saw one in OK City last year and it was beaded in the center. If I get a photo I'll post it.

I'd love to have a piece like that, but my peyote stitch needs some work.

                  beaded barrett
                  by coastee
I'm sure this has been brought up before but I need to know how to attach a piece of beadwork to a barrett. I've tried using leather as the backing but it's so thick that I keep bending my needles. Is there a kind of cloth that I can use that won't fray. Thank you

                  Yet another leggin' question
                  by Kamama
It's me again, I'm trying not to be a bother asking questions here, but, I find myself puzzled. I went and got some pellon to make some new leggings with, and am wanting to actually attempt to make beaded leggings this time. I also picked up some canvas as well. Will either of these materials get ruined...

How do I start a beaded vest?
                  by o-shot-caw265
I am interested in beading a vest but I have no idea how to start. I am not sure what I need in order to get started. How do I measure what size I need and all? Please let me know what I need to get started and where I should begin as well as come up with a design.
