  • who was the best old school drum group?

    remember these groups have to be the old guys. the singers that sang the golden oldies when they were the top ten songs. You can name the singing groups from your area too. they don't have to be the same as this thread has on it. the drum groups that come to my mind are:
    1. porcupine singers
    2. mandaree singers
    3. badlands singers
    4. fort kipp singers
    5. red earth singers
    6. crazy horse singers
    7. iron wood singers
    8. rock creek singers
    9. onion lake singers

                    I don't know any of the canadien drum groups. but these are all good choices.

                      hey M2M--you might have heard a couple of those Canadian groups ... the original drum group from Frog Lake made it down to Poplar in '72 and to Rocky Boy in '74. I'm sure you've heard some of their songs, 'cause the late Andrew Abraham made a lot of beautiful songs that went all over. And the late Victor Thunderchild was down to Crow Fair in '70, and again at St. Francis, SD in '76. So some of the good singers from up north were getting down your way.

                              I was just a little punk when all these old school groups were in their prime. But probably the one group that caught my ears back in the days was Dakota Hotain of Sioux Valley, Manitoba. They were the bomb back then.
