Just a few weeks ago Kenora Ontario had its first ever contest pow wow. They also had a singing contest and the weird thing that bothered everybody was the "no pinching rule." Those drum groups that had pinchers would have had 10 points deducted for each singer pinching. I personally and I speak for almost everybody else that was there that this was a stupid rule. The head singing judge who made up this rule was eventually dismissed from his duties and the "no pinching rule" was eventually scratched. It was a good idea he was fired before the actual singing contest started, otherwise it would have been a ****t pow wow.
Bear Creek was there and they took first. Man It would have been crazy had the "no pinching rule" been in effect all weekend. Just imagine how Bear Crek would have felt had they been beaten by those other lesser known drum groups. Thank god the rule was scratched. I personally disagree with any singing contest setting a "no pinching rule" in its rule book.
I was just wondering what everybody else thinks about this kinda rule.
