The grab is always after the lead. Its when the lead singer gets done singing the verse then everybody else picks it up and sings the same verse. Ya know?
              :D

You lost me there too now bro....I thought I had an idea what you meant earlier, but from your explanation.....I'm lost as hell...

Are you calling the second "the grab"???

Oh man how I can explain this so you all can understand. Ummmmm........................ok I'll give it another shot. Well every drumgroup has their lead singer right? Then theres everybody else that sings along too. Ok......the leadsinger starts off the song with his lead, once his lead is done the rest of the singers jump in there and start singing along too. The moment the leadsinger is done singing his part then the rest of the singers start singing along, thats the grab. The grab is always cued in after the leadsingers lead. I hope that explains it better. If you all were pow wow singers you all would know what Im talking about. But its alright, everybody deserves to learn something new. I dont blame any of you. :)

Most singers call this "the second," but its always neat to hear different regional terms.

I keep hearing the term "second" too. But I myself always refer to it as the second lead. Like the second round of the song. But I guess its true when you say every region has their own words. "grab", "second" whatever, as long as you all get it now.

The word "grab" is used a whole lot around Northwestern Ontario and the Lake of the Woods area. This is the area I come from and most singers usually call the "second" the "GRAB" around here. I dont know how that came to be but I figure its used cuz when the singers pick up the lead they grab it ya know? Its like reaching for the lead and taking off with it....grabbing it. Picking it up so to speak. We got a whole lot of singing terms I'm sure your unfamiliar with such as ummm....honor beats, pick up, drag, pop, and effects.
                        That good enough? :)
