    Best Drum Group Names

There are some rather neat names out there. Some are rather ingenious in unsing "word play" and "unique spellings" - something that is done in the music business and even corporate America. But the best have to be those that use a name that reflect the clan, tribe, or cultural area that they are.

Some Outstanding ones in my region are:

    1. SouthEastern WaterSpider
    2. Iron Necklace
    3. Black-Water-Moccassin
    4. UnderWater Panther

Edit Note: Groups # 1, 3, and 4 above are all people from the Southeast and members of Southeastern Tribes. At the moment though they live in various areas of the Mid-West.

You have heard of Stoney Creek but not Stony Park? My God, what rock have you been under for the last 20 years or so. Stony Park is from Morley, AB Canada. They have been around longer than most active drum groups today. They won 1st at Schmitzun two years in a row in the early 90's.

But anyway, here are some cool drum names:

        Mountain Valley
        Running Snake
        Stuttering Dog
        Dog Not
        Wild Eagle
It is so sad that a family can torn apart by something as simple as a wild pack of dogs.

CNG - you should get a recording of Stoney Park. These guys make you wanna dance.

Anyways, those names you listed? Sound good except for Stuttering Dog.

I read of one, I think from Washington state. Grandpa Moses Boys. Cool name.

I agree with TomIronEagle. The drum group name should reflect the clan, tribe, or general cultural area of the groups location. I also believe the group name should reflect the drumkeepers personal dream or the vision he received in his life. I also think that the drum name should consider all the singers in the drum group...such as what they all have in common or if they are all are related.

Got it right that time - Grandpa Noah's Boys. I think they live in the Tacoma area. Could be wrong, tho.

I kinda like it when a drum group uses a tribal name, since most groups use an English translation. Two of them I can think of around here are Shiobaha and Sauk Beux'.

Not only is Iron Necklace a great name for a drum, but an awesome drum group. They are a wonderful family also. :Heart

                          Mandan-Hidatsa-Ree (3 Tribes) So I say...

Mandaree has the best name ever.

then Thunderbutte by Mr. Rex Fox's crew in Mandaree.

                          Oakdale! Smith boy's rock!

                          Then Eagle Whistles of course.

these 4, sheesh, put'em in your poll.
                          ...jus put on Mandareeeee....
