How often do you practice?

For all the singers out there - how often do you practice singing?

I voted for once per week, since that is their regular practice time, but they practice whenever the opportunity arises. Someone's birthday... at the motel on a powwow weekend... whenever!!

Oh yeah... wanna hear something funny? a few of the guys were practicing a round dance song on their hand drums in a motel room... my husband was recording the song. We were listening to the recording and the song ended with a phone call. :Chatter I laughed my face off that the phone call was recorded... it was the front desk asking if we could please not be so loud.

(I answered the call.... "Uh, is this room 115?" "Yes, I think so." "Are you guys being loud" "Uh, I suppose some people might think so." "I had a call from your neighbor, could you please not be so loud?" "oh, ok.") I think it was like midnight or something... some people just can't hang!!

I suggested to my husband that they put a skit like that on a recording with a voice over of the front desk clerk asking them to keep it down....

ok. well, i thought it was funny, anyway. This just happened two weekends ago... :p

Hell Midnight and they're calling already? Dang slack hotel - the best calls are at 3 in the morning - that's when you regulate and kick everybody out so that the time they get there, you are in the bed with the lights off - just move the 49 to another room!!

Sad truth

I voted whenever we can, mainly because I'm really busy, or because nobody is around............
But if I'm lucky I practice twice a week, usually with a bunch of get together guyz.
I find that the groups that practice more than two times a week usually live in a small community (rez), because than all of the group members are always around, not really like me, in a group with members all over the map.

I voted whenever we can because we got singers in different countries, states, and provinces. We rarely get the chance to practice. We'd be lucky if we got one practice in during a single year.
Our singers are dispersed in Minnesota, Northwestern ONtario, South Dakota, and Manitoba, oh yeah even in Arizona believe it or not. ITs crazy I tell ya.

we go every sunday @ 1:00 , and have a carry in dish. soup , frybread. we end at 5:00 or 5:30..

Well - Kau-ta-noh, Jrs has practiced every Sunday since it began 4 years ago. Then, last year - after Schmitzen, they decided to add another day - Thursday - so we practice twice a week now. Most of our members live right here in Pembroke or surrounding counties - April and Chris live in Fayetteville and Clinton, respectfully - and they come as often as they can - which is pretty often. If we pow-wow - that constitutes our practice for that weekend. :) Sometimes practice will carry on to dinner and a movie - or pizza and a game of pool. We are more of a family than just friends. Feels good to be a part of it.

how often do you practice

well our guy's are spread around within 150 miles of each other, but we try to get together on thurs. with some of the kids in the community.but my son will soon turn three, and he just started leading so we practice everyday.{he makes me ,i guess i'm one lucky dad}

No one in our drum group has a life, so we practice every 2 hours. Just kidding

2 to 3 times a week. We are just getting started and are getting songs in order and getting in sync.
